Covid-19 is raging through the unvaccinated in Missouri:
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — As the U.S. emerges from the COVID-19 crisis, Missouri is becoming a cautionary tale for the rest of the country: It is seeing an alarming rise in cases because of a combination of the fast-spreading delta variant and stubborn resistance among many people to getting vaccinated.
Intensive care beds are filling up with surprisingly young, unvaccinated patients, and staff members are getting burned out fighting a battle that was supposed to be in its final throes.
I have to admit, it gets a lot harder to have much empathy when you read stuff like this:
Frederick said some people in the heavily Republican state are resistant because they feel as if Democrats are pushing the vaccine.
Dying to own the libs. Good job.
I try not to post too many things about Trump these days because I’d rather not think about him ever again, but this story in the Washington Post about how he got covid, and the race to save his life using experimental meds that nobody really has access to, is just a wild read. I can’t believe the biggest punishment he has faced so far was being banned from Twitter:
According to this report, Trump nearly died, was saved by a rare, experimental drug that pretty much nobody else got access to, and rather than being humbled, he doubled-down on a reckless approach that continued to cause hundreds of thousands to die. https://t.co/iXFFEtbxMr
