Trump pardons controversial former Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio

President Shit for Brains really did it.

President Trump has pardoned the controversial former Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio, who was convicted of failing to follow a court order to end the practice of detaining people merely on the suspicion that they might not have legal status.

In a statement, Trump made no mention of Arpaio’s conviction, but praised his past military service. It is the first pardon of Trump’s presidency.

“Arpaio’s life and career, which began at the age of 18 when he enlisted in the military after the outbreak of the Korean War, exemplify selfless public service,” Trump said. “Throughout his time as Sheriff, Arpaio continued his life’s work of protecting the public from the scourges of crime and illegal immigration.

“Sheriff Joe Arpaio is now eighty-five years old, and after more than fifty years of admirable service to our Nation, he is worthy candidate for a Presidential pardon,” the statement continued.

Arpaio’s practices have been characterized as racial discrimination. He was awaiting sentencing at a hearing in October.

Jesus is in a Sonogram

We haven’t done one of these in a long time. Thanks to Fred for sending this in. Expectant parents look into a sonogram and inadvertently learn about pareidolia.

CHAMBERSBURG, FRANKLIN CO. Pa– An expecting Franklin County couple saw an unexpected image in their baby’s sonogram. They say the clear image of a man watching over their daughter is offering them a sense of relief.

Mother, Alicia Zeek’s reacted to the image with confusion, “When they gave it to us… Umm, to me, it’s Jesus. And it looks like Jesus.”

Father, Zac Smith also confused by what he was seeing, “this is distinct– I mean, there’s another face looking at my daughter!”

I used to run my rss feeds through feedburner but stopped doing it quite some time ago. People have been emailing me that the rss feed is full of spam now. Unfortunately, I think it’s on Feedburner’s end so I can’t do anything about that but I don’t use that feed anymore anyway. The official feed (with full content) is right here.

The shitty thing about this announcement is that only the people who are already using the updated feed will get this. Sigh.
