Pope shocks Chile by accusing sex abuse victims of slander

The Catholic church is a shitty organization that will always protect their pedophile priests even with the new “nice” pope:

SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) — Pope Francis accused victims of Chile’s most notorious pedophile of slander Thursday, an astonishing end to a visit meant to help heal the wounds of a sex abuse scandal that has cost the Catholic Church its credibility in the country.

Francis said that until he sees proof that Bishop Juan Barros was complicit in covering up the sex crimes of the Rev. Fernando Karadima, such accusations against Barros are “all calumny.”

The pope’s remarks drew shock from Chileans and immediate rebuke from victims and their advocates. They noted the accusers were deemed credible enough by the Vatican that it sentenced Karadima to a lifetime of “penance and prayer” for his crimes in 2011. A Chilean judge also found the victims to be credible, saying that while she had to drop criminal charges against Karadima because too much time had passed, proof of his crimes wasn’t lacking.

Kirk Cameron: Hurricanes Are Sent By God For ‘Humility, Awe And Repentance’

One of the weirdest things about Christians, other than their rap videos, is that they praise a loving god by showing off how many people he can kill, injure or economically destroy just for shits and giggles:

“When he puts his power on display it’s never without reason. There’s a purpose. And we may not always understand what that purpose is, but we know it’s not random and we know that weather is sent to cause us to respond to God in humility, awe and repentance.”

Didn’t Charles Manson have basically the same philosophy?

Governor Abbott declares Sept. 3 a Day of Prayer in Texas

They are praying to that nice god who sent a Hurricane to flood their cities and towns and who killed at least 35 people for the time being.

ROCKPORT (KIII NEWS) – The Texas Governor signed a gubernatorial proclamation Thursday at the grounds of what remains of the First Baptist Church in Rockport declaring Sunday, Sept. 3, a Day of Prayer in Texas.

“Howdy Texans,” Governor Greg Abbott began, addressing a large crowd of people at the destroyed church.

The Governor was among a group of state and federal officials visiting Rockport with Vice President Mike Pence. After landing at the Corpus Christi International Airport, the Vice President and his entourage made their way to First Baptist Church, followed by a tour of a devastated Rockport neighborhood.

“We all know one thing, and it’s that there is no storm as tough as the people of Texas,” Abbott said. “We will rise again and we will rebuild this great town and the affected areas across the entire state of Texas.”

“As we gather today here at this church, it’s important that we remember that the greatest power that exists is the power of God, and the way that God can touch and move all of our lives. It was God acting though the lives of so many Texans who came to the rescue of other Texans. It was the power of God that was able to pull people out of the water and literally save them,” Abbott said. “As a result of that, I think it’s very important that I issue and sign a Texas Gubernatorial Proclamation here today. By the power vested in me as the Governor of the State of Texas, I am declaring this Sunday, Sept. 3, as a Day of Prayer in Texas.”

Mother Upset That Child In School is Receiving an Education

A mother wants a textbook change because it has the audacity to cover Islam. She doesn’t seem to understand that there’s a big difference between education and indoctrination.

SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN (WJHL)- A Sullivan County mother, upset about the way Islam is taught in her child’s school took her concerns to the board of education Monday night.

Michelle Edmisten was the only parent to speak during public comment about how Islam is being taught in schools.

She pleaded with the board asking for an immediate change.

“It is time as parents, teachers, and administrators we stand up and take back our families, our schools, and our country,” Edmisten said.

Edmisten said her daughter just finished the Islam unit, and felt some of the assignments went against her beliefs as a Christian.

She said her daughter refused to complete some of the assignments regarding Islam because of those beliefs, and as a result failed several of those assignments.

Monday night, she asked board members to change the curriculum.

“I would like to see the Pearson book yanked from the school immediately. I would like to see parents, Christians, veterans, anyone that’s anyone, stand up for this fight. How can I, as a Christian, say that I have these values? And I want to instill these values in my daughter, but then say its okay go ahead and do it,” Edmisten said.

Board of Education members listened, but said changing a textbook involves a process.

An Arizona Boys’ Soccer Team Refused to Play a Team With Girls for Religious Reasons

Yes, this is a story from 2016.

God has offered many divine tips about how people should conduct themselves here on Earth. According to the heavenly stewards of Faith Christian School in Mesa, Arizona, one of God’s ground rules for life is that mankind should not engage in sport with or against womankind.

That’s why the high school’s boys’ soccer team forfeited a game rather than play against a team that included two girls. On Friday, Faith Christian administrators told the Foothills Academy College Prep boys’ soccer team that, because sisters Alyssa and Colette Hocking play midfield, Faith Christian would not participate in the game.

The school’s reasoning is wonderfully absurd. “I know it appears to fly in the face of what everyone is wanting to promote today, and that is equality. It is based on a religious perspective that God created guys and girls differently,” Dick Buckingham, Faith Christian’s administrative leader, told the Arizona Republic. That’s true—the Bible overfloweth with tales of God treating guys like Abraham differently from girls like Mary Magdalene. And for good reason: “The difference physically, there is a strength advantage that men have over women,” Buckingham observed. “We want to teach our men that honor of ladies is just not in sports. We struggle how to teach that if we’re allowing them to play against young ladies in a competitive game.”
