And we just adopted a kitten. She is 10 weeks old and is super sweet. At least at the moment. No name for her yet.
I just want to thank everybody for their condolences. It has been a difficult time since we lost our buddy. We keep expecting to get some of his attitude as he yells at us for not feeding him fast enough or some other form of cat rule that we had so ignorantly broken.
Your words mean a lot and it helps. I know this blog isn’t as active as it was years ago but I’m really glad I came back to blogging.
Especially since we may have an impending Trump presidency and religious fanatics are still as crazy as fuck. (Seriously, wtf is the big deal with bathrooms now. Is this really a dire issue?)
I’ll be blogging sporadically for the next few days and then we’re taking a trip to Montreal (J’ai besoin de pratiquer mon français!).
We had to put Cynikitty to sleep today. It was a painful decision but his kidneys were failing. The vet had given him some subcutaneous fluids on Friday night to see if that would help. It did for a bit. Just long enough for Mrs. C to get back from a trip. By last night we had to bring him broth to his bed for him to take any and by this morning he had stopped eating altogether.
He was a wonderful pet and companion. He would jump in my lap every night as I read. But it had to be his idea. Once when I was getting ready to read, I picked him up and put him in my lap and he jumped down immediately, walked around the coffee table, and then jumped into my lap. He wanted to be up there but it had to be his idea. Such a cat.
Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed.
O, hai! Cynikitty is doing well. Here he is taking refuge in my soft cello case.
