February 21, 2006This video is not playable in your country
This is the first time I have come across this. It is a google video of a detonation of some explosive device used against coalition forces. The interesting part is that the google video player is replaced by a message saying "This video is not playable in your country". Anybody know what's up with this? (Thanks Limbo) Update: Bibi, from the wonderful Bibi's Box, is from Brazil and reports that she can see the video. Looks like Google is not just censoring video and search terms in China. Update 2: A quick, ahem, Google search shows that apparently the people who upload the video can select what countries the video can be shown in. It would be the person who uploaded the video, not google, who is not allowing anybody in the US (who isn't using a proxy) to view it. |
