Terri Schiavo Case

I was sick yesterday and stuck watching news in bed so I saw alot about this case. The Florida Legistlature approved a measure allowing Gov. Jeb Bush to order Teri Schiavo's feeding tube to be put back in. Here is the story from cnn.

A few thoughts. Obviously this is a tough situation no matter which way you look at it. The way I look at it is that it has been 13 years this woman has been in a vegitative state. 13!!. This didn't happen a few months ago or even a few years ago. I understand how the parents don't want to admit it but Terri Shiavo is dead. All that remains to her is an empty shell. Her body is being kept alive by machines and that is certainly no way to live. I would doubt that anyone who is happy about the decision to keep her alive has had anyone who is going through what the husband and parents are going through.

For the record, if blogs are admissible in court and I end up in a state similar to Terri Schiavo, I would hope that my loved ones would have the courage to pull the plug. Life isn't worth living in that condition.
