  1. hey… he didnt say cynical-c.com
    WHAT GIVES?!

  2. *Circe*,

Point taken, BUT did you actually read all of them? Because they have a point in the Georgia teacher case.

  3. Marvin,

Who is at the top of the Catholic League, how many points are they clear, and do they have any games in hand ?

Does this league have playoffs, and maybe a trophy at the end of the season ?

  4. TDavis,

    Marvin,
I’m pretty sure the Padres dominate the League.
    Or maybe the Saints.

  5. Rabo,

    Circe,

When you call everyone a bigot, nobody will come running when the big bad wolf bigot really does come.

  6. DaveS,

Dog bless free speech! Just think, there was a time when all these silly accusations had a burning stake behind them. Always remember that about the Catholic church.

  7. FlamingAtheist,

Man, some of my favorite groups/people are on this list, I must be doing something right if it pisses off the ‘Catholic League’ so much :)

  8. Moon,

It looks like he hates all Democrats, all liberals, all news organizations and Howard Stern!

    :D

/Actually, it looks he’s calling for a Catholic fatwa against anybody who ever said anything bad about Catholics. I’m sure just hasn’t gotten around to the rest. You’re gonna a bigger website to fit all those in.

  9. Seth,

That’s alotta hate. Sorry you didn’t make the list Cynical Chris. There’s always next time.

  10. That certainly is a big list. Kudos to you, dearest blogmeister, for having the patience to write and link all that out. Quite humorous as well. :)

  11. marezion,

wow. what a list. you’d think that the ‘pure and divine’ catholic church could rise above such petty worldly inconveniences as the odd jab from hollywood and washington. oh, well. no one ever expects the spanish inquisition.

  12. What I especially like about the Catholic League is that it is apparently Bill Donohue and…………….a bunch of people who put their name in for good luck. Seriously. Does anyone else ever show up or do anything with this group?

  13. DaveS,

Check out the one about Robin Williams.

    CL says:

“Williams suggests that most molesting priests are pedophiles, when in fact they are homosexuals.”

That is a VERY interesting attitude, as if being gay is a crime at least as serious as pedophilia. The Catholic church is just out of touch with civilization!

  14. As an expert on Catholic League press releases now, I can say that I came across one other name than good ole Billy in hundreds of releases.

    DaveS,

It was especially fun to go through the releases during 2002, 2003 during the whole Cardinal Law protecting the pedophiles era. It was always the homosexuals’ fault.

  15. Moon,

The main definition of bigot (which Mr. Donahue calls almost everyone):

    bigot

    Main Entry:
big·ot Listen to the pronunciation of bigot
    Pronunciation:
    \ˈbi-gət\
    Function:
    noun
    Etymology:
    French, hypocrite, bigot
    Date:
    1660

: a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance

  16. Zanders,

    What, no George Carlin!?

  17. Moon, you’ve brought the joy of laughter into my life. Granted it’s not the kind of happy innocent laughter that I’d generally prefer but it was still one hell of a laugh :)

As for blaming homosexuals…they blamed women for original sin, they blamed the jews for killing their lord (yes, I’m aware that, going by the book, it was the romans but I mostly hear the jews taking the blame on this) and after their silent consent of the slave trade they don’t dare blame other races (especially not with the current war already making use of peoples fear of humans who look different). Now that it’s generally considered socially acceptable to be gay (in so much as we won’t stone you but you can’t get married or join the military) the homosexual population makes a magnificent scapegoat. It’s not that there’s a problem with not letting grown men engage in consensual sex with people of legal age, it’s that the gays have invaded catholicism.

  18. yournoncaucasianfriend,

Marvin, its the Catholic league, its only a fantasy league

  19. damnedyankee,

Thanks for illustrating so nicely what’s so funny about the Hagee/Donohue/McCain Conservative Deathmatch!

  20. slag,

The West Wing? The President was a Catholic! And a pretty good guy. I miss him…

  21. Skwee,

I’m going to start a parody called the Scientologist League. Same thing, but with Xenu & L. Ron. Its purpose will be to show the public how preposterous Bill Donohue is.

  22. Casey Wade,

How do i get on this list? Donohue is a joke. He makes a fool of himself everytime he opens his mouth. Society is evolving away from the hate he spews. I pray for the rapture. Please come and take these fruit cakes away.

  23. Larkin,

where’s the catholic church in this list?

  24. McGee,

To be fair, I would agree with him about Al Sharpton.

  25. To DaveS:

Donohue’s remark about Robin Williams in no way suggests that homosexuality is a crime. You need a remedial course in understanding plain English. Also, if a victim is a male beyond the age of puberty, then ANY sex act with an adult male would be tecnically a homosexual act. I think the bigots list should contain most of those who wrote replies.
