It’s from the movie “Downfall” about the last days of Hitler from inside the bunker. It’s actually a really good movie despite not being able to watch the above scene without giggling now.
I always laugh at these, but feel sad that Bruno’s Ganz’s bravura performance is sunk beneath them all. It ’s worse than what the Lone Ranger did to Verdi.
well, that’s a really hilarious translation. sadly, i’m german and it’s quite hard to shut down the meaning of hitler’s spoken words in one’s mind and concentrate on the subs, because i get goosebumps everytime i hear them (NOT because i like them!!!). ganz’s acting is absolutely superb in this movie.

When he starts talking about his mother’s dress….I just lose it.
Oh, and I do really recommend “Downfall.” It’s an excellent movie, and Bruno Ganz is superb as Hitler. He makes him crazy without making him insane.
