  1. Debbe,

Is this from “Inglourious Basterds”? I haven’t seen it yet. The actor playing Hitler looks like Elton John with a bad wig and toothbrush moustache.

    • It’s from the movie “Downfall” about the last days of Hitler from inside the bunker. It’s actually a really good movie despite not being able to watch the above scene without giggling now.

  2. Angry Sam,

These will never cease to be funny.

  3. I’m with ol’ Adolph on this one.

  4. DreamDevil,

    I agree with Angry Sam.

  5. Kaye,

OMG…LOL. I was crying because I was laughing so hard…LOLL

  6. Dale,

Hilarious! What is another funny “Hitler responds”

  7. McGee,

My favorite one of these is where Hitler bitches about not getting Billy Eliot tickets.

When he starts talking about his mother’s dress….I just lose it.

  8. McGee,

Oh, and I do really recommend “Downfall.” It’s an excellent movie, and Bruno Ganz is superb as Hitler. He makes him crazy without making him insane.

  9. Who knew Hitler could be so funny?

  10. Jim Buck,

I always laugh at these, but feel sad that Bruno’s Ganz’s bravura performance is sunk beneath them all. It ’s worse than what the Lone Ranger did to Verdi.

  11. hoff,

I love how he translated “They will drown in their own blood!” with “How am I supposed to play Bloons?”-

  12. toblin,

well, that’s a really hilarious translation. sadly, i’m german and it’s quite hard to shut down the meaning of hitler’s spoken words in one’s mind and concentrate on the subs, because i get goosebumps everytime i hear them (NOT because i like them!!!). ganz’s acting is absolutely superb in this movie.
    btw, love your blog!

  13. Stephen,

I love these, the one about Ireland not qualifying for the world cup had me in stitches :)
