I find it funny that a Senator from the only state in the Union with a de facto state religion complains about a minority group forcing it down his throat.
We here in the GLBT community of Utah often find it nice to laugh at Buttars, and also to berate our legislature for their close-mindedness. But in Salt Lake we’re doing a good job of being open-minded; its just that our entire state-government seems to have lost their way to the present and was stuck in the 1950’s, or earlier. It is so sad it’s hilarious.
I cannot recall a time when I’ve been harrassed by gay people. They have never come to my door with pamphlets trying to drum up support for the “gay agenda”. These people are ridiculous, bigoted, and totally paranoid. Time to join the twenty first century, asshole.

Um, freedom of speech means you can’t be arrested for what you say. It doesn’t mean that whatever you say makes you free from ridicule. So when somebody like douchenozzle above spouts hate speech, we can ridicule him.

Now, if I were a state senator being interviewed on tv and I stated that, “I meet with the blacks here and there, they were in my house two weeks ago, I don’t mind blacks, but I don’t em stuffing down my throat all the time, and certainly in my kids face”.
Firstly, his statement isn’t as funny in this context.
Secondly, it would never be accepted, racism is the sort of intolerant bullshit that people just wont put up with anymore (if it were mentioned so openly). Being anti-gay is another form of intolerant bullshit that people shouldn’t put up with, and that’s why he should be called up on that. Yes you have the freedom to say these things. But when you are a state senator you have a responsibility to the people, that they can live a life free of bigotry, a life free to live, love and marry who they choose. Just out of curiosity, what’s your stance on gay marriage? Yay or nay?
“Gay Marriage” my initial feeling is Nay…….but in saying that I cannot provide a logical reason why they shouldn’t be married other than it doesn’t feel right to me (which is hardly a reason to stop gay marriage now is it !! lol.)
“Missing the Mark” and “Living under a bridge” ….not really I just suffer from a form of naivety that makes me question why we have to manufacture our happy, shiny plastic lives.

@ Niel : Yes, it does sound ridiculous when you phrase it like that. I was going to mention that white, black, yellow and any other colour can naturally reproduce but that is also ridiculous as marriage doesn’t mean you have to produce children, it just means committing to someone you love (plus you can also adopt etc etc).
After watching the vid a few times, I see that I did indeed miss the mark on why it was posted. “ramming it down my throat” “my kids faces” < lol
