During my diseased state last week, I did manage to get out my old guitar, shine it up a bit and restring it. Then I managed to play for about a half hour before my fingers started to weep blistery tears. But it was nice to play for a bit. I don’t think I’ve touched it much in the past decade or so. Lack of spare time is the worst part about being grown up. Well, that and every tick of the clock brings you that much closer to death. Oh, and jury duty sucks.

Hey, I have a black Les Paul, too! It’s not all that old, about 1977 or so. One of these days, someone in the family just might learn to play it.
Nice guitar. Do you have any recordings of your playing you can share with the class?
I didn’t know you play. That’s awesome. I’m going on 17 years in December (Axemas if you will). I’m curious, do record?
On a side note, I just bought Iggy Pop’s “Preliminaires” album after simmering in the idea over the summer and hearing about it on Fresh Air. It’s a concept album. Never really into him before, but this album is fantastic! Check it out, you might like it.
@Squid and Brandon,
Yes, I used to record all the time…. And I have no idea where they are now. I think a lot got thrown out accidentally over time.
@Janey,
I agree. I think the Les Pauls are just gorgeous.
Glad you got your geetar strung back up. I’m in the same boat with playing time, my ‘74 Strat just sits and stares at me sadly every time I get on the computer instead of caressing it.
Beautiful axe. Chris, it’s worth finding the time to play. My jammin time is precious to me. My wife calls my guitar “the other woman”. Get back into it, man. At least 2-3 times a week, you need to play. It’ll make your life better. Tho’ for the 1st few weeks, probably not the lives of those who have to HEAR you, but hey…
