Huh?

Palin made me break my internet boycott during vacation (Twitter doesn’t count) and actually fire up the browser to see what the hell was happening in Alaska. The news stories were vague so I had to go to Thrillah from Wasillah’s press conference to see what she was saying. I’ve watched it twice and I think she’s giving up cuz of basketball or something. Anybody else understand a word she was saying?

  1. I can’t wait to see what David Letterman does with this!!!!!!

  2. Mike K,

She is tired of seeing sitting politicians waste money on personal extravagances. So to fight this, she’s quitting her job. Isn’t that admitting that she is also a wasteful “lame duck governor”? What happened to “thanks, but no thanks”?

She’s tired of them taking unnecessary trips overseas on taxpayer money, then brags about going overseas to visit the troops. She and G.W. could have some very stupid children together.

Ironically, Just last week she said that she has the endurance to outlast Obama in an endurance race. Apparently not if it’s a political race.

  3. -l,

I had to find the actual speech when within one hour I heard two conflicting reports. One said she had admitted to grievous wrongdoing and resigned in shame. The other said she announced that she is concentrating on her candidacy for president in 2012. Both reported it as though it were in her speech. Its strange – the actual speech is so vague.

  4. Steve J,

While I admit to being biased in favor of Democrats, I’m still confused. While Palin will be freed from the day to day job of being Govenor, she didn’t have to give up her job. Obama spent plenty of time away from the Senate while he ran for President. For the record, I too wrote my comments while on vacation.

  5. Howard,

WTF? This is a great example of tangential thought. New direction = I’m not leaving politics (wink wink). She must write this shit at 3 a.m. after a meth binge. I swear this is like listening to someone on speed before the break of dawn.

  6. Justin,

The basketball metaphor! Rather than passing the ball, I think she walked off the court mid-game and quit the team.

Then later she calls an audible. What?

She was definitely frantic and nervous, whatever she was doing.

  7. Adam,

I’m pretty sure she said she was giving up because she’s wasted loads of money and wasn’t good enough for the job? (If so, it’s the first sensible thing I’ve heard her say)

Oh and that the world needs more Down Syndrome babies not less!???

Do you think she meant to say the *US* is looking North to the future, not Alaska…or was that another global warming reference?

Apparently she miss-attributed the ‘advancing in another direction’ quote as well… http://henrykisor.blogspot.com/2009/07/advancing-in-another-direction.html

  8. Johnny,

She’s not retreating from reality, she’s advancing towards insanity.

  9. lumpi,

    It’s simple:

Just such as basket ball players, tired of politics as usual! And, also, she asked her kids and they were like “Hell, Yeah!”, lame duck politics. This administration, with it’s incredible road to the future for Alaska, also, millions of dollars go down the drain. Whether we can change politics, so she will!

  10. Palin/Bachmann 2012 Bring Teh CRAZY

  11. Joe Blow,

I can’t even finish this. Does this mean she’s available, though?

  12. enry,

    she’s hot in that photo
