Quote of the Night

From Michelle Bachman:

“I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under Democrat President Jimmy Carter. And I’m not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it is an interesting coincidence.”

  1. jayb3369,

Especially interesting considering swine flu broke out in February 76, when Ford was president.

  2. wileybot,

Bet she stopped eating pork as well.

  3. BillyJoeBob,

I think she is half right. It is a coincidence, but it is not interesting.

  4. icequeenvivian,

I was born in Feb. 1976 and the swine flu failed the first time, but I’ll get those crazy christians this time. muwhahahahaha!

  5. ntac,

She just proved, through pure wit and blinding rhetorical maneuvering, that two completely unrelated things can somehow be interestingly unrelated… um… interesting… uh…

I think my brain just oozed out of my nose. Maybe I’ve got the democratic kosher swine flu.

  6. Erin,

This woman should be wearing a foil hat on a street corner somewhere.

  7. Doug C,

And yet.. she is from the same state Al Franken is from. Minnesota has an interesting set of voters.. or is that a coincidence, or is it an interesting coincidence? Or is it just peculiar.

    You are joking …

  9. daves561,

Whoever the presidents were, in the case of any two events occurring under different administrations, you have four possibilities: DD, DR, RD, RR. In other words, 50% of the time, two events will occur under presidents from the same party. If this isn’t an example of a NON-coincidence, I don’t know what is, but given Ms. Bachmann’s demonstrated lack of understanding in anything mathematical or scientific (see: CO2 speech), it’s not surprising.

  10. lumpi,

I’m sure the image is pure coincidence, too.

  11. Julia S.,

As someone not just from Minnesota, but from Michelle Bachmann’s district, I can say…Nobody here knows how she got elected. I’d suggest voter fraud, but she clearly lacks the intelligence. It’s a mystery to everyone, including us.
