Four years ago Time photographer Callie Shell met Barack Obama backstage when she was covering presidential candidate John Kerry. She sent her editor more photographs of Obama than Kerry. When asked why, she said, “I do not know. I just have a feeling about him. I think he will be important down the road.” Her first photo essay on Obama was two and half years ago. She has stuck with him ever since.

These pictures were the awesome.
He was here, in the hotel in my parking deck, today, having spent the night before his rally at Richmond’s Coliseum today. Packed in 13,000 people, with 7,000 more outside.
I think he just might carry the state!!

These were great. My favorite is the one of Obama with his feet up and you can see how worn his shoes are.
Quite a contrast to Palin’s recent shopping spree.
Next time around we should all nominate our high school debating captain’s for the presidency…after all, this election is only about talking the talk.
