  1. Sparhauk,

Sadly, there are a lot of ignorant people out there, making these kinds of statements. I guess I could “pray for them”. But so far, that still hasn’t taken away their right to vote or breed.

  2. anazgnos,

That’s really weird. The delivery, the exaggerated facial expressions, the reaction shots of the inverviewer…it all looks really stagy and fake. It looks like it’s about to reveal itself as a parody any second, only there’s no jokes.

  3. Amanda,

Please ma’am, could you tell me of one instance, THROUGHOUT ALL HISTORY, that praying put food on the table.

    Specifically.

  4. slavenka,

Deeply hope that the people who think on this way in the minority in America.
If not, we are screwed .

  5. deepsea33,

ok, off topic but her eyes are set so faaaaaaar apart!! I couldn’t see both of them at once! That was scary! I love the way most of the Obama haters just start to say something then laugh and trail off… like they are thinking “Oops, better not say the N word on camera!”

  6. Amanda,

@Deepsea: Hehe yeah. A little shrug of the shoulders, the widening of the eyes, the “Pssh, well…you KNOW…”

Meanwhile, those that dispute McCain (we don’t hate, because hate only belongs to the ignorant) look you straight in the eye and say dead out flat “Plain and simple, the man is fat cat, old man crazy.”

  7. Erich Schrempp,

I’m reminded of that scene in Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, where Scrooge sees two emaciated waifs cowering under the robes of the Ghost of Christmas yet to come. “Who are they?”, asks Scrooge, and the Ghost replies, “They are Ignorance and Want, of which the former is the more dangerous.”

  8. Will,

I bet she’s a real joy to be married to…

  9. Ross,

I have to stop watching videos like me or I will smash my screen with my forehead someday.

  10. Amanda,

@Will: LOL “I’m prayin for heym. He’ll vote they way that’s best…” *underbreath* “…If he knows what’s good for his sex life…”

  11. --Arren--,

In an age like we have today, to hear such ignorance as that woman spoke. Who are these people…arggh!

  12. Skippy,

Ah, catch-all non-answers. My favorite. “I’ll pray for you/him/them” in this instance seems to translate to not knowing what to say or how to say it so I’ll just reach for my handy-dandy catch phrase. … Oh, and “Maverick”. ::eye roll::

  13. MDK,

List of other funny names of presidents (potential and actual):

    Sidney
    Millhouse
    Millard
    Quincy
    Van
    Knox
    S
    Hiram
    Birchard
    Grover
    Gamaliel
    Walker
    Cotesworth
    Rufus
    Levi (VP candidate)

So really, Obama would be par for the course.

  14. Burk,

I wish we could go back to the olden days when we used to ignore retarded people.

  15. Do you think she refuses medicine for her children based on the idea that she can pray so hard for them?

  16. ntac,

The phrase “the Lord will take care of us” has always bothered me. It always sounds like a serious cop-out. Does that mean I can go ahead and quit my job, lose my house, move to the streets and not have to worry because, no matter what stupid decisions I make, the Lord will take care of me? Talk about ignoring the responsibility for one’s own well being.

  17. G-man,

To Phil…..I listened to that and that is very interesting and kind of confirmed what I have been thinking about lately. (listen to the clip…it’s about blacks voting for Obama because he is black)

Let’s face it there are ridiculously stupid people voting on both sides. Black people just voting FOR Obama because he is black is just as bad as white people voting against him because of it. The problem to me is that those white people that are voting against him for that reason are violent about it. I am white and an Obama supporter, but I am really scared about what the state of racism will be elevated to once he is elected. I wasn’t around for the Civil Rights movement (I’m 33), but I predict it will almost be similar to those times once he’s in office. As for uneducated bible thumpers like this lady…..jeez I don’t even want to get started on her…

  18. G-man,

Oh and yes, I will be voting for Obama on November 4th.

  19. That is one ugly woman.

And I’m not just talking about her gelatinous pink exterior.

I will pray for her deformed soul. :P

  20. LL,

G-man, I think an Obama presidency will help race relations in this country, beyond the small (hopefully) group of already hardened racists (who I fear will more extreme). Imagine if Obama becomes the new person white Americans think of when they hear someone is black instead of the gangstas many of them now seem to instantly think of. That is if he can pull off turning the country around. If not we won’t have another minority president for a long time.

  21. err,

“the lord will take of us”

people like this give me the willies.

  22. Phil,

LL, I think you are right. In fact, I really, really, REALLY hope that you are.

  23. G-man,

LL, I hope you are right.
