    Though most of the routine probably went over the head of most children, I love how he doesn’t try to talk down to the children. Instead he just does a routine appropriate for his audience. Genuine Carlin.

    Seems like he would have been a fun grandfather and a pretty class act.

    It was impressive to me that he didn’t seem to have to try hard to be funny to them. He just did his normal style minus the cursing, and they thought it was funny. Heck, I thought it was funny…

    -sigh- We need more Carlins these days.

    A quote from the obit written by Jerry Seinfeld for the NYT is related: “His performing voice, even laced with profanity, always sounded as if he were trying to amuse a child. It was like the naughtiest, most fun grown-up you ever met was reading you a bedtime story.”
