Another record breaking day in the US with more than 77,000 new infections. At what point does anybody in the federal government whose name is not Fauci decide that we may want to take this serious again?
Georgia governor is suing to prevent cities and counties from mandating public mask wearing. Yes, the REPUBLICAN governor of a state that is currently spiking in covid19 cases is suing the Atlanta mayor’s efforts to get people to wear a mask which would help mitigate infection rates. At this point, I don’t know how one can look at what’s happening with the GOP and come up with any other conclusion than they are perfectly fine and in fact, encouraging infection rates to spike.
Speaking of Georgia, their hospitals are starting to be overwhelmed.
One in three children are testing positive for covid in Florida. That’s bad. Even worse, health officials are saying that children with even a mild illness may end up lifelong damage. Florida schools open next month. What could go wrong?
Covid-19 has shut down Florida’s Emergency Ops Center. After numerous people tested positive, they had to shift to work from home.
Governor DeSantis is blaming the media for what’s going on in Florida right now. I’m sure he made his papa Trump proud with that.
The Senate GOP has a bill offering protection to businesses, schools, and other organizations from covid lawsuits. Which is on brand for them. Corporation Lives Matter!
Meanwhile, Texas and Arizona are ordering refrigerated trucks for bodies because the morgues are starting to fill up.
And the Trump campaign’s spokesperson’s reaction on Canada shutting down the border with the US for another month, “Why would anybody even want to go to Canada?”
.@brikeilarcnn on coronavirus restrictions: “We can’t even go to Canada…Canada won’t let us in.”
Trump campaign’s press sec: “…Not sure why you’d want to go to Canada when we live in the greatest country…”
Brianna: “…If you want to get away from coronavirus you might.” pic.twitter.com/12oguis5Ft

I watched Hamilton on Disney Plus a week or two ago. It probably loses a lot in translation from the stage to tv (seeing a play in a theater is an experience by itself. But, what can be done now. Not like I could get tickets for Hamilton even in pre-covid times) but it really is brilliant.

And getting Americans to wear a mask is a big problem for some reason:
