The transcript is inconsequential since it can, and most likely will, be edited to make it less terrible than it undoubtedly will end up being. But if the whistleblower testifies, you may end up seeing a few more republicans start heading for the high ground.
If they do decide to go ahead with impeaching Trump, which I believe they have to do now, there is no way he’ll be convicted by the Senate. It’s a battle they won’t be able to win. But, sometimes, you need to fight an unwinnable battle because it’s the right thing to do.
