Seasonal Affective Disorder

I think I have Seasonal Affective Disorder, aka, SAD (which is an acronym that annoys me because the fucker who came up with it was probably high fiving someone for being clever). I’ve never been clinically diagnosed but every year, like clock work, come January I become morose by evening, just wanting to lie in bed, read and be left alone. Last year I tried taking extra vitamin D which didn’t really do too much. People have been telling me about trying light therapy where you put a bright light (10,000lux) on your desk or wherever to increase your serotonin levels. So, this just came in today:

A verilux compact happy light.

This is not an endorsement because I literally just turned it on and placed it on my desk. I’ll give you an update in a week or two. So far the only thing it has done has made me feel like a moth. My wife’s response was, “That’s bright!!!” Yes. Yes it is.

Kyrsten Sinema takes Senate Oath on Constitution

The fact that she is openly bisexual and taking the oath on the Constitution in lieu of the book of fairy tales with creepy religious Mike Pence swearing her in is just the best thing I can possibly see today outside of somebody with the surname ‘Trump’ being led out of a courthouse in handcuffs.

The contrasting styles of Arizona’s new senators seem to become clearer with every step they take.

On Thursday, U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, a Democrat, took her ceremonial oath of office using a copy of the Constitution rather than a religious book, as most members usually do.

By contrast, U.S. Sen. Martha McSally, a Republican, took her oath using a Bible recovered from the USS Arizona, which sank during the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941.

Bid to Discredit Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez with College Dance Video Backfires

I really, really love that AOC gets under their skin so much that they resort to posting videos of her in college, dancing and having fun? LOL.

An attempt to humiliate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as she was sworn in as the youngest ever US Congresswoman has backfired impressively, prompting a huge outpouring of support for her.

A 30-second video was posted by a Twitter user called AnonymousQ, showing Ocasio-Cortez dancing on the roof of a building while in college.

“Here is America’s favorite commie know-it-all acting like the clueless nitwit she is,” read the post, with the user, who has since deleted their account, claiming it was a “high school video of ‘Sandy’ Ocasio-Cortez”.

In fact, the short clip was part of a longer video, made while she was an undergraduate at Boston University. In it, she and several other students dance on the rooftop of a university building to the song Lisztomania by Phoenix, in a mash-up of a dance from the Breakfast Club.
