Had a quick trip to Dallas visiting family and home. Highlights from Dallas:
The Sixth Floor Museum, formerly known as the Texas School Book Depository. I’m a bit torn on this one. I really liked it at first but the emotion connected to it left a bad aftertaste. It took me a day or two to realize that the problem with it is that even though the exhibits are mostly dedicated to JFK, you are ultimately put into the vantage point of an assassin. It’s one of the saddest museums I have been to since I visited the Holocaust Museum in D.C.
Meso Maya. Good mexican food. Good atmosphere. The pollo con mole made me want to go back. Immediately.
Zaguan Bakery & Cafe. I was staying really close to this so it was my coffee and cachito place. Nothing like a couple of cortados to start the day.
Returned last night to 30 degree weather. WTF winter? It’s mid-April. Go home!
