President Donald Trump has been talking to his friends about possibly asking Attorney General Jeff Sessions to prosecute Robert Mueller, the special counsel overseeing the Russia probe, and his team, NBC News reported.
The revelation appears in a news analysis piece written by Howard Fineman, an NBCNews.com contributor and an analyst for MSNBC.
Fineman quotes an unnamed Trump advisor as saying: “Here’s how it would work: ‘We’re sorry, Mr. Mueller, you won’t be able to run the federal grand jury today because he has to go testify to another federal grand jury.'”
It’s unclear what charges Mueller could possibly face in such a situation.
So last night the following stories came out (after McCabe’s story broke)
The Trump Administration will not sanction Russia despite a bi-partisan bill which was overwhelmingly passed, and then signed by Trump himself. It’s almost as if Trump is colluding with Russia or something.
WASHINGTON, Jan 29 (Reuters) – The Trump administration said on Monday it would not immediately impose additional sanctions on Russia, despite a new law designed to punish Moscow’s alleged meddling in the 2016 U.S. election, insisting the measure was already hitting Russian companies.
“Today, we have informed Congress that this legislation and its implementation are deterring Russian defense sales,” State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement. “Since the enactment of the … legislation, we estimate that foreign governments have abandoned planned or announced purchases of several billion dollars in Russian defense acquisitions.”
Names of campaign donors to be flashed during live stream of Trump’s State of the Union speech. I honestly thought this was from The Onion. This is a fool me 50 times shame on me situation.
President Trump is seeking to parlay his first State of the Union address on Tuesday into cash for his reelection campaign by offering supporters a chance to see their name flashed on the screen during a broadcast of the speech.
In a fundraising solicitation on Monday, Trump offered those willing to pay at least $35 the opportunity to see their name displayed during a live streaming of the address on his campaign website.
And the GOP is going all in with the Nunes memo. Probably the biggest question I will have years from now while I’m looking back at this time period from the upcoming nuclear winter, is, why on earth did the GOP decide that Trump was the hill they were going to fight for everything on when they have Pence right behind him who is an honest to goodness, gay-hating, uterus-policing, conservative. If they had let Trump burn himself out, Pence could have stepped in and they would have had everything they wanted in probably a much more competent manner. My only guess is they are too afraid of Trump’s base and that letting Trump dig his own holes would be riskier if they waited for the midterms.
The inventor of the plow did more good than the maker of the first rosary – because, say what you will, plowing is better than praying.
