KKK Hoods & Russian Flags Appear In Trump Tower Gift Shop

From Gothamist:

Shoppers looking for MAGA hats at Trump Tower this week may have encountered a Ku Klux Klan hood or a photo of President Putin, and asked themselves whether what they were seeing was real merchandise.

On Monday afternoon, two NYC-based artists secretly slipped some items inside the merchandising outpost of the Trump Tower’s lower lobby. Among them: A Trump-emblazoned KKK hood “for fine people,” sealed packages of pee-proof rubber sheets, and a Russian flag. In the front of the store, a postcard display featured the 45th President of the United States, Vladimir Putin, along with cards paying tribute to First Lady Ivanka Trump, and the flap of flesh near the president’s throat area, known as a Wattle.

Ancestry

So I did the Ancestry.com dna test.

Going into it I did have some reservations about how accurate they can be but my wife did it a few months ago and her results certainly seemed to be fairly accurate. She is Haitian American and her results came back mostly West African/African Caribbean. So I decided it was worth the 90 bucks to check it out.

Going into it, all the research that my family has done on our genealogy was that we should mostly be Irish/English and French. The results just got back today:

Not too many surprises really. The Italy/Greece one is probably the biggest surprise that’s not in a low confidence region.

Who else has done one of the dna tests? Anything surprising? Feel free to share in the comments!

Trump Campaign Hawking Hat that He Wore on White House Call About Hurricane Harvey

I was wondering why he was wearing a hat inside at a conference table as he monitored Fox News the hurricane. I should have known that it was just product placement:

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) doesn’t appear to be thrilled with President Donald Trump‘s new hat. Not what’s written on it, which is a simple USA in white print on a red background, with the Trump name on the back, but its marketing. Turns out they’re not alone, as Trump’s own former head of the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) has expressed his frustration, to put it mildly.

The head covering is available for $40.00 on Trump’s campaign site, and he can be seen modeling it in an official White House photo released on WhiteHouse.gov. More disturbing, he was apparently flaunting his new cap while on a teleconference call with cabinet officials to discuss Hurricane Harvey.
