One thing about this “victory” for Trump on the AHCA jumping today’s hurdle is we get to test the Inverse Trump Square Theory where every victory he has is inversely proportional to the damage that is done immediately after.
Trump has a victory with his State of the Union address and the next day we find out that Sessions perjured himself in front of the Senate which leads to him recusing himself from the Russian investigation.
Trump holds a victory party in the rose garden when Congress passed the AHCA and within days he fires Comey leading to another shit storm.
So let’s see how he can fuck this up within the next 48 hours.
Politico reported Tuesday that White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci prompted the resignation of assistant press secretary Michael Short by telling Politico that he planned to fire Short as part of an effort to stop leaks to the press.
When Short resigned shortly after Politico published Scaramucci’s stated plans, Scaramucci went on to blame the Politico report for Short’s resignation.
According to Politico’s reporting, Scaramucci confirmed to Politico himself early Tuesday morning that he planned to fire Short at a morning meeting, but as Politico notes, “that move was apparently delayed.” Politico published a story on Scaramucci’s plan for the communications team at 9:15 am.
A few hours later, Axios’s Jonathan Swan tweeted that he had received a text message from Short saying he had resigned.

Senator Angus King falls silent after saying he'll give a quick synopsis of what's being voted on today https://t.co/gg5wEE4y6Q

I had a lot of work to take care of yesterday so I wasn’t able to get in much news (Although I hear the Nuremberg rally at the Boyscouts of America Jamboree was a hoot) so I’m trying to get up to speed of what the vote will even be about today. I guess I didn’t miss much.
CNN host Alisyn Camerota could do nothing but laugh at Sen. Angus King (I-ME) when he revealed what information he had about the Republican health care bill that the Senate will vote on today. The Maine senator was completely silent.
“Let me give you a quick synopsis of what I know about the bill that we’re going to be voting on this afternoon,” he said, before going completely silent.
Camerota waited patiently before getting the joke, and then began laughing hysterically. “I’m taking notes,” she told King.
“I’m serious, there is no one who knows,” King explained. “I talked to two senior Republicans last Thursday afternoon. I said ‘what are we going to be voting on, on Tuesday.’ They said ‘We have no idea.’ I think it’s going to be the House bill, but then there may be a substitute amendment, and I’ve never seen a process like this. No discussion. This is really, to quote a famous American, complicated stuff, and to be talking about one-sixth of the U.S. economy and tens of millions of people without any understanding of what the implications are, I just — I really don’t understand it.”
King went on to say he thinks the GOP will face many dilemmas, including an offer to allow debate, which will bring a floodgate of members from both parties to speak out against the legislation.
Trump attacked Sessions again this morning publicly by tweeting this:
Attorney General Jeff Sessions has taken a VERY weak position on Hillary Clinton crimes (where are E-mails & DNC server) & Intel leakers!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) July 25, 2017
And if attacking Sessions on Twitter over and over again is too subtle, he sent his smoochie out to basically confirm that he wants Sessions gone:

Sessions is a racist little turd who deserves public humiliation but I can’t enjoy my slice of schadenfreude pie because this is being done by the President of the United States who is clearly insane at this point.
There is a big lesson to be learned by all Republicans who are supporting Trump however if they have any brains left in them. Sessions was Trump’s earliest of supporters in the Senate. He was with him from almost the beginning and seems to be one of the most loyal. Trump has turned on him in quite a dramatic fashion. And Trump will turn on anybody whose name isn’t Donald J Trump (and probably Ivanka). Everybody else is fair game if you don’t take the knee and kiss his stubby tiny little fingers.
