Paris Climate Accord Reactions

‘Make our planet great again’: French president blasts Trump for pulling out of Paris Climate Agreement:

French President Emmanuel Macron closed his speech to France, and indeed the world, about the Paris Climate Agreement speaking in English in what seemed to be a direct message to U.S.A. President Donald Trump.

“Make our planet great again. Thank you,” Macron said.

The statement came at the end of a short message in French in response to Trump pulling out of the Paris Accord. The U.S. becomes one of just three countries to not be involved.

“I tell you firmly tonight: We will not renegotiate a less ambitious accord. There is no way,” said Macron. “Don’t be mistaken on climate; there is no plan B because there is no planet B.”

  1. “I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris” says Trump.
Which is good, because Pittsburgh is over 1000ft above sea level.

    1. Not to mention it’s about as post-industrial as a former industrial powerhouse can get. I’m from Pittsburgh. I had to move away because of work. I desperately want to return…but not if it’s smoke-filled and polluted. I want the Pittsburgh as it is, and could be – green, high-tech, excellent dining and entertainment, fantastic medical options, post-secondary education out the wazoo.

The blue collar jobs may have faded, but the other fields replacing them are the wave of the future, and the education options in the city and county make jobs for those fields perfectly viable (if, y’know, you study and work on your academics in school).
