Boston minister who preached against violence shoots teen in head

From NOLA.com:

A Boston youth minister who worked for city schools was charged Thursday with attempted murder after he shot a high school student who was selling marijuana for him, authorities said.

The 17-year-old student, who was shot in the back of the head, is expected to survive, prosecutors said.

Rev. Shaun Harrison, 55, was arraigned in Municipal Court in Boston and pleaded not guilty to several charges, The Associated Press reported. He was ordered held on $250,000 bail.

After his arrest, officials said, Harrison was fired from his job at Boston English High School running substance abuse and anger management programs. He was known in the community for anti-violence efforts and working to keep youngsters out of trouble.

Authorities are also investigating whether Harrison had ties to an illegal drug-dealing operation, and whether the boy he shot worked as a dealer in that operation,
