It’s not that hard. They let in about 300 or so Americans a year for about $4000 a person. Usually it’s just for the Mass Games, but they’ve been more ‘open’ in recent years and people come in at different times. I’ve wanted to do it, but I can’t afford it.
All tourists do the same tour, stay in the same floor of the same hotel, see the same museums, streets, and even train stations. That’s why all of those “Exclusive Inside North Korea!!!!” documentaries all look exactly the same. lol
A bunch of North Koreans — who have never had access to the wide-open internet and have no idea what a YouTube is — are now part of an international pop culture meme, and will never know it.
Very. I love his work. I could watch a hundred videos of him doing exactly the same thing. It really has a powerful impact, and with such a simple act.
Thanks for the link, Ack. It made my otherwise uneventful morning quite pleasant!

Seriously, right at the end there. I was like “Why did that make me tear up?”

Yeah…I gotta admit that, though I started the video thinking, “What? Is this this guy’s career now?” I ended up all teary-eyed.
Sniff.

His second video tour was sponsored by Stride Gum. What was that question about “if you’re doing what you love, is it really work”?
Some say we’ll see a video of him dancing on the Moon.
