Never trust directions from children or people who don’t drive. Unfortunately, those are the people who ask you to drive them somewhere you’ve never been before.
In Nicaragua, all directions are based on landmarks — like, “two blocks up [i.e. north] from the statue of Christ the King, and two blocks toward the lake.” The problem is that they sometimes reference landmarks that are no longer there, like “two blocks up [north] from where the statue of Christ the King used to be.” Or, better yet, they reference landmarks that have disputed names depending your political sympathies. It’s all a lot of fun.
That’s exactly how direction are given in Kentucky, but those landmarks would be someone’s house -someone you don’t know, but should- whether they still live there or not.
This must be Jamaica because I get directions like this all the time out here especially in country. There are very few street signs so this what you get and for person like me that has no sense of direction it is a wonder I find my way home each day!

When I give directions it’s usually, “If you get to Pine Street you’ve gone too far. Turn around, go back two blocks and make a left….”

Very cute…but if they move, she’s going to need a longer arm.

The worst directions ever are in Atlanta, GA, because 90% of the streets there are called, “Peach Tree”.
