CGP Grey is awesome. These are all fun to use in the classroom (even if middle schoolers don’t understand half of it, the speed and quick changes align perfectly with their attention spans).
In Texas there is a hybrid system with an open primary (but you can’t vote in more than one primary) that decides 2/3 of the delegates to the state party conventions. There are also nighttime caucuses that nominate delegates who go to county conventions and make up 1/3 of the total delegates.
That’s how Obama won Texas in spite of losing the primary. The Obama organization got a lot of first time caucus attendees to show up. Did it myself. I brimed over with civic pride once it became clear we would tip the election.
