From Jonathan Turley:
This is an interesting comparison to judge the runaway executive salaries in this country. It turns out that Walmart CEO Michael Duke’s $35 million annual salary constitutes an hourly wage equal to the annual salary of the average Walmart employee.
New Walmart employees are paid $8.75 an hour — a gross salary of $13,650 a year. Thus, over a single lunch, Duke makes the yearly salary of one of his workers.

They make so much more money because they work “harder” than the rest of us, right?

Your link does say his “annual compensation” was $19m. I don’t think the average Walmart worker would mind too much if they only got an extra 14-15 times their salary as “annual compensation”.

Salary is not the same as compensation. The OP said he made a $35 million salary. It’s not even close to reality.
If you are going to criticize his pay, get your facts right.
(and yeah I think $18 million annual compensation is a whole heck of a lot)

Someone who’s not anal retentive gets the point. Each year the guy earns a shitload of money, regardless what part of it is called “salary”. It could be called a “celery” and it wouldn’t make one bit of a difference.

Anybody else want to see Michael Duke on the next season of Undercover Boss?
Anybody else think it’ll ever happen? Yeah me neither…
