  1. “WHY THEY DON’T EVEN HAVE A KEYBOARD ON THAT PHONE! OUR NEXT PHONE WILL HAVE A 3 AND A HALF INCH FLOPPY! SUCK IT APPLE”

I have never understood how Ballmer got to where he is and how he’s stayed there. Gotta be Polaroids of someone somewhere…..

    1. You’re right.
Everything he said was wrong: Apple is now a strong player in the smart phone business and Zune is now a defunct product.
I almost pity this guy, he’s so way off.
      Microsoft shareholders didn’t see that?

    2. I know. He’s the worst.

Every time I see this guy I wonder, how can he possibly be running one of the biggest corporations in the world? He seems like he would be more qualified to coach a high school football team.

      QUARTERBACKS, QUARTERBACKS, QUARTERBACKS, QUARTERBACKS.

  2. Actually, I had the same reaction to the iPhone: “$500.00?! FOR A PHONE?” I’ve never owned an Apple product, but they seem to be way overpriced. But yeah the Zune (1st generation at least) was a flop.

    1. They have to be overpriced. If they weren’t overpriced, their owners wouldn’t be cooler than everybody else. It’s a major part of the image marketing.

  3. Memories… Thanks for bringing that up. 🙂

500$ for an iPhone. Not for a Phone.
Don’t wanna sound nerdy and Apple fanboy-ish, but an iPhone is way more than a phone… That’s the whole point of an iPHone.

  4. I’ll admit, I was actually amazed at how well the phone did too… Considering it lacked basic copy+paste, mms, a decent price, multi-tasking, notification system, require iTunes to do anything useful with it…
Just another phone with a web-browser but lacking basic smartphone functionality didn’t seem that exciting to me…
I completely underestimated how far a shiny object with great marketing could go…
Most people really don’t care about features I care about… I really should’ve learned my lesson the first time around with the iPod… (really, an MP3 player that requires special connecters, a special program, and transcodes a limit number of formats before it can even play the files?)

Shiny sells, no matter how silly I think it is… Look at the laptops and tvs in any store for an example… Who the hell thinks glossy screens and piano black plastic is a good idea for something you need to use without glare and handle without carrying around a wipy cloth to keep it pretty?
