  1. just average americans? i think those young men were exceptional americans. and they are most likely reaping the benefits of medicare…..

  2. I have been reading “The Longest Day” and The Frothy One is right. The soldiers all have different feelings about the storming of the beaches, but they are united in their common purpose to defeat the future healthcare plan.

  3. The British soldiers, who also stormed the Normandy beaches, went home and demanded free healthcare. They won the day; and our Tory party have still not succeeded in rolling it back. We’ll fight them on the beaches and on the rooftops. Your Sanotorium is obviously in the ignoble tradtion of Josef Goebbels–proponent of the Big Lie.

    1. Chris, I second P. This needs to be put together with the video. jim.buck’s comment has so many levels of awesome in so little words.

  4. My dad wasn’t there for D-Day because he was shot down in the Pacific. I can tell you he wasn’t average, and he would think that the Republicans of today (he was one in those days) are full of shit.

  5. Between my dad & his brothers they landed on 6 Pacific Island, one died on a shit heap called Peleliu. Their family struggled to get by during the Great Depression and they learned that together we could all do better than as individuals. They greatly approved of Social Security and voted for politicians who brought forth Medicare because they knew that life was not always fair & working men and women occasionally need, and deserve, help from the government they supported. Santorum is a chicken shit chicken hawk – unwilling to serve himself but more than happy to stand on the bodies of those who did serve in order to make himself look taller.
