    Minus the fact that “man” used to mean “humanity as a whole”, and not “people with penises”… the “man = penis” thing in English started around 1000 AD, according to Online Etymology.

    Don’t know which type of “man” the hebrew version means, but there is definitely some wiggle room in that term.
