I just finished reading Stephen King’s latest behemoth, Under the Dome…. And by reading I mean listening to the audio book. And by listening I mean growing infuriated with the narrator who gave the lifelong Maine resident and villain a southern drawl and made most of the women characters so unintelligible that it became the first audio book ever to need subtitles.
But the book itself was probably King’s finest work in the last two decades. At least it was until the ending where I think even the narrator stopped screwing up the characters and said, “Wait, where the fuck is he going with this book. IT ENDS LIKE THIS? FUCK NO!”
I just downloaded Cory Doctorow’s Little Brother to my stanza reader but I have nothing on deck that I’m interested in. Crap. Anybody reading anything good at the moment?
