Road Rage, Accident Centers on Obama Bumper Sticker

Or, why I refuse to put any bumper sticker on my car.

Mark Duren told News 2 the incident happened around 4:30p.m., while he was driving on Blair Boulevard, not far from Belmont University.

He said Harry Weisiger gave him the bird and rammed into his vehicle, after noticing an Obama-Biden sticker on his car bumper.

Duren had just picked up his 10-year-old daughter from school and had her in the car with him.

“He pointed at the back of my car,” Duren said, “the bumper, flipped me off, one finger salute.”

But it didn’t end there.

Duren told News 2 that Weisiger honked his horn at him for awhile, as Duren stopped at a stop sign.

Once he started driving again, down Blair Boulevard, towards his home, he said, “I looked in the rear view mirror again, and this same SUV was speeding, flying up behind me, bumped me.”

  1. I’m not trying to implicate all conservatives/republicans,but I have never heard this much backlash against a president or party. When Bush was in office, I would hear people bring up impeachment, or being charged with war crimes, but it never became this violent. And now congress members are being threatened. These people are nuts. I live in a small town in north Jersey, and some people around here are almost intolerable. I’ve heard people say “Obama should be shot” or “it was a mistake electing a nigger”. I’m becoming very ashamed to be an American lately. You couldn’t wear the wrong t-shirt to a political event under Bush, and now people have signs with guns on them, or better yet, actual guns. Excuse my language, but I’m fucking disgusted right now. These people are Fucking animals.

  2. People didn’t say or do the violent stuff with Bush because they were afraid of being labelled a traitor and then of being arrested and held under the auspices of the Patriot Act.

Plus….Dubya wasn’t black. I’m sorry, and I know people have gone into full denial mode on this in many cases – but I contend and will contend that a great deal of this strife is because of race.

    1. You may have missed the part where Bam signed the reauthorization of the Patriot Act on 2/27/10. Of course, he signed it with little fanfare on a Saturday…I guess he didn’t want his supporters to notice his acknowledgment that Bush was right on this. BO is also making a heavy push for warrantless cell phone tracking, but you knew that, right?

  3. I won’t put bumper stickers on my car either, but being an animal lover, I do have a vanity plate that reads “NON FUR.” It’s only a matter of time before a hunter with an attitude keys my car (or worse).

As far as this stuff not happening under Bush, here’s an example of why: back in 2001 a guy in a bar made a joke about “God speaking to the world through a Burning Bush.” and someone overheard it and reported him to the FBI. He got 37 months in prison fr threatening to do bodily harm to the POTUS. You can Google it, but here’s one source:

    1. I can, however, see some people putting bumper stickers on the cars of people they don’t like. I mean, how often do you check the bumpers of your can when you step in to drive? (One time some kids pasted a (rather innocuous) radio station sticker directly over my license plate; that was fun to get off.)

  4. I once had a very frustrated – and awkward – young man berate me in a parking garage when he saw me getting out of a car which had an Apple (computer) sticker on it.

Even nerds have nutbags. (how’s that one for a bumper sticker?)

  5. Welcome to Nashville~! Blair boulevard runs through some of the wealthiest and ultra-conservative areas of the freak town. The best part is the guy stopping for breath mints to mask his southern baptist boozin breath. These fucking bible thumpers are a truly dim.

The best part is the victim – a school teacher – is pleading for sanity. Where the right wing wants more blood.

    1. I’m not saying the sentence the judge gave was correct, but you’re missing some necessary information I believe.
He went onto christian forums to provoke members saying that god would speak to people through a burning bush, and pouring gasoline on GW and setting him alight would fulfill that prophecy. He has Bipolar disorder, and other issues, he calls himself prophet Israel Humphreys. The judge realized this and sentenced him to serve his time in a federal medical facility.
