How “Christmas-Friendly” Are Retailers?

Are you looking forward to going Christmas shopping but terrified that once in the store, Islamic satan worshipping gay jewish atheists won’t wish you a Merry Christmas? Then StandForChristmas.com is the solution.

Millions upon millions in our nation deeply value the great truths of Christmas and the holiday’s inspiring place in American life and culture. We hope you will take a moment to “Stand for Christmas” by sharing feedback about your Christmas shopping experiences.

We’re asking YOU to decide which retailers are “Christmas-friendly.” They want your patronage and your gift-shopping dollars, but do they openly recognize Christmas?

Here are some of the reviews for American Eagle Outfitters:

Comment Date: Dec 1 2009 11:25 AM
Rating: Christmas-Friendly
Comment: They gave me a King James Bible after I wished them Merry Christmas. I’m going back again tomorrow.

Comment Date: Nov 28 2009 3:23 PM
Rating: Christmas-Offensive
Comment: Wow. Plenty of usages of the word “Gift”, but not even a “Holiday”, let alone Christmas. It’s obvious that purchasing gifts is the only thing they want you to think about this Christmas.

Comment Date: Nov 28 2009 11:51 AM
Rating: Christmas-Offensive
Comment: Was wished a Happy Hanukkah as I left the store. When I stopped and explained I was Christian, the lady at the counter told me ‘Happy Holidays!’ This was very offensive!

Comment Date: Nov 27 2009 8:39 PM
Rating: Christmas-Offensive
Comment: This store was playing MTV when I was in there last, I was glad my daughter was in the dressing room because the video that was on was porn.

  2. American Eagle is showing porn and giving away the king james version of the bible? How thoughtful that they supply something I can use to clean up the mess after I’m done.

  5. Erin,

    I’m happy to hear that none of these Christians will be cluttering up the stores that I shop in anymore! Nice to know how offended they are when people say “Happy Holidays”, too.

  6. ah-pook,

    Thanks for this. The GAP reviews had me rolling on the floor.
    It’s puzzling how these so-called christians with all their morals seem to have a bigger problem with the wrapping paper not displaying baby Jesus than they do with the actual products being made by children & poor people in horrible conditions.
    I’m sure they’re making their imaginary friend very proud.

  7. Dan,

    LOL, after reading some of those comments I see that Fanatical Christians are scary.

    I must admit I like the stores looking done up and the shopping centres pumping out the carols (so does my son) BUT Jesus WOULD NEVER want you to buy in his name and would be horrified at commercialness of it all.

    • QuickDrawMcGraw,

      Yep!!You said it all!!!
      I wonder how many of these self righteous fundavengalicals even bothered putting a penny in the
      Salvation Army Kettle this year??

      And where was Bill O’Really’s wrath about the trampling death of a Wal Mart Greeter last year???

      Guess what??People have been saying Happy Holidays and Seasons Greetings and abbreviating Xmas for as long as I can remember!!!

      And give a listen to your local radio stations at this time of year:How many songs about our Lord and Saviour get played??

      With the exception of”Little Drummer Boy”and”Do You Hear What I Hear”,None!!!
      What do you hear:”Grandma Got Ran Over By a Reindeer”;
      “Blue Christmas”;”White Christmas”;”Run Run Rudolph”;
      “All I Wannt For Christmas Is You”;”Frosty the Snowman”;”Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer”;”Sleigh Ride”;”Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”;”The Christmas Song”and”The Most Wonderful Time Of the Year”!!!

      And truth be known,Christ wasn’t born on Christmas Day!!
      Read your Bible:Where it says that’The shepherds Were Gathered With Their Flocks in The field”.
      In the Middle East,It’s Wintertime!!Most Livestock Has Been Moved To Winter Pastures by December!!

      Actually,If The Shepherds Were In The Fields,It’d Be Late August/Early September When They Got The News!!!
      The Main Reason we Celebrate Christmas in December Is Because When Constatine Was Emperor of Rome,He Converted The Empire To christianity.

      However,The Pagan Celts of What’s Now Modern Day Ireland;Scotland and Wales and The Saxons of What’s Now Modern Germany didn’t want to give up their Pagan Holidays Without a Fight!!!

      So after he began losing too many missionaries,Constatine finally told the pagans
      “Tell You What:Pay a Little Lip Service To Christ
      and We’ll Let You Keep Your Holidays,Mmkay??”.

      So they said”Okay Connie,Ya Got a Deal!!”.
      However,the good folks at Faux Snooze never let the truth stand in the way of’victimhood’!!!

  9. If people keep getting offended at friendly greetings, whatever they may be, we’ll soon hear nothing but BAH HUMBUG. We should be glad other people talk to us at all!

    I once wished a “Merry Christmas” to a coworker and then immediately remembered he was a Jehovah’s Witness, who celebrate no holidays. His response? “Thank you.”

    Now that’s class, whatever your beliefs.

  10. TC,

    Oh, for pity’s sake. If “Jesus is the reason for the season” is your credo, mayhap you shouldn’t be spending all your time shopping for Christmas.

    • AmandaNZ,

      Booyah. Society tends to forget that a retailer driven Xmas has only been around for about a century.

      I guess they’ve forgotten about “It’s the thought that counts”, and it’s become “It’s how much money and time you spend bitching about retailers that counts”.

      And I’m a fricken atheist!

  12. “Holiday” = “Holy Day”. Why are they whining?
    “Christmas” = “Christ Mass”. Have the born agains become Catholic?

    Idiots.

    Imagine their snark when they find out that the days of the week and several of the months of the year are named after pagan deities.

    The War on Thor’s-Day will begin!

    question: is this representative of north american people? are your fellow citizens really crazy to the bone or is just like the loud minority? ’cause i’d like to go to your country one day, but i’ m not really into discrimination and bullying and religion rage…

    @dermotmoconnor: Good point.

    @TC: Great point.

    I’m puzzled sometimes why people care about the things they care about, but then I remember that I blog about corn.

  16. chuck,

    These reviews made me laugh, because you can tell that none of them were actually serious or genuine save for maybe one, and yet all the fuckheads commenting couldn’t figure that out. Its all very sad, because this is something “born agains” are passionate about, and they should be left alone, just as gays should be allowed to fight for the right to marry, and shouldn’t be criticized for it. You could argue that “well Christians are so hostile and only want what they want, but seriously thats how every other twat with an agenda is like yes even atheists.

    “Your all a bunch of fuckheads” (yes even me)
