Man Attacked Family Over UNO game

Completely understandable if he was down to uno and someone nailed him with a Draw Four card.

OREM, Utah, Aug. 18 (UPI) — Police in Utah said a man arrested for attacking his nephew and his wife was upset by a game of UNO.

Orem police said the 58-year-old man was in his home drinking and playing the card game with his 47-year-old nephew and the nephew’s 64-year-old wife at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday when he allegedly became agitated and smacked the woman on the back of her head, The Salt Lake Tribune reported Tuesday.

  1. How does this make the news but my break-in whereby the crooks took a jar of change and an old backpack goes undiscussed?!

Also, I used to collect all the wild cards before I shuffled and give them to myself. This may have transpired.

Also-also, I think the man was more upset that his nephew was married to the man’s high school sweet heart.

  2. Wife and I have to be careful playing with one friend, he’s been known to sneak a ‘draw four’ under the rug and ‘reverses’ up his sleeve. But we’ve never felt like hitting him, just making extreme fun of him for his shady play.

  3. I think the bigger news is that the woman is 17 years older than her husband and 6 years older than the uncle. My guess is the woman is somehow blood related to the uncle as well. It is Utah you know.

  4. Once I had an entire hand that consisted of reverses, skips and draw fours, so did the big grand finale move and laid down like 7 cards in a row to go out while adding 8+ cards to her hand. She was not amused and attacked me with a metal nail file. Those were good times.

  5. UNO is an evil game. So are euchre, spades, hearts, and pinochle as mentioned by Pinkerton. Anyone who humiliates a person stupid enough to play these games deserves some physical punishment by the punishee.
