Shepard Smith Calls Out “More and More Frightening” Fox E-mailers

And Wing Nut Daily takes umbrage with the report:

Ironically, Smith himself allegedly engaged in activity some might deem questionable.

As WND previously reported, during the presidential election fiasco in November 2000, Smith was arrested at the Florida Capitol for allegedly driving his Mazda Millenia
into another reporter who was standing in a parking space she attempted to save for a friend. The victim, freelance journalist Maureen Walsh of Tallahassee, was hospitalized and released later the same day with bruises on her knees and legs
.

The rest of the email goes on and on about Obama’s birth certificate.

  1. I kind of like Sheppard Smith. I find it weird that his face and voice are like the paragon of a male news host. But I like the things he says too. He seems to call out a lot of right-wing extremism, at least on the videos I see on this website. I don’t watch him otherwise. But he impresses me. As far as the quote posted beneath it about his shoddy past, people do stupid shit, then regret it, or just change with time. I like this guy, seems like a cool, reasonable guy.

  2. The problem is that mainstream (TV) culture is breaking away and that it is easier to be isolated in an extremist circle.

Besides there is no unbiased, non commercial quality TV (like the BBC) in the US, so any interest group can propagate whatever they want. It’s ironic that fox news, that never cared about truth or objectivity, now preach the importance of facts.

  3. If people are sending Fox news these emails its a clear sign these people are watching Fox news. Maybe Fox news has responsibility to defuse some of this hatred with fact/informational reporting. I have no doubt they fueled it at one point.
