From English Russia:
In Russia bacon is called “SALO†and people it it raw, the less meat and the more fat in it the better it is. They put it in the fridge, right in the freezer, it is not cutted but in one big piece, then take it off, slice it thin and eat with Russian bread and garlic.

Yes magic.

That looks like something we Serbs have called slanine. Smoked bacon that comes in slabs that have to be sliced.
Breakfast food with bread, spring onions and tomatoes…I loved that for breakfast when I was a kid.
It’s what you grow up with.
Something I also still love that would probably gross people out, and would probably explain the heart attack rate in Eastern Europe is cvarce (chvar-tsi) Breaded and deep fried bacon fat…with warm cornbread…sounds gross, but it’s sooooo good.
