Teaching Christian Children About Dinosaurs

Answers to all your questions about dinosaurs from ChristianAnswers.net:

When did animals begin to kill and eat other animals?

Animal Hunter After the Flood, God gave people official permission to kill animals for food and eat them. Man could now eat everything, green plants and animals (Genesis 9:2,3). This means that people from Noah’s family could have eaten dinosaurs, if they tasted good.

But God told the animals (including dinosaurs) that they should not kill people. If they did, they would have to answer to God for it (Genesis 9:5b).

Tiger At the same time, the Bible does not say that animals were forbidden to kill other animals in this new world. God does not repeat his command, here or later, that animals are to eat plants. So, it could be that the end of the flood marks the time when land animals and birds began to develop the habit of killing for food. Or, it might just be the time when these habits started to become common.

Did any dinosaurs ever become terrible and ferocious?

The answer to this question remains a mystery. At this point, there is no proof that any of the dinosaurs were as mean and dangerous as shown in most dinosaur books. It will take many more discoveries before anyone can say for certain how dinosaurs behaved in the world before the Flood or after. However it is likely that more people killed dinosaurs than dinosaurs killed people.

Bible-believing Christians can be sure of one thing. When dinosaurs were originally created, they were peaceful and harmless just like all the other animals.

  1. Wow. I’m going to start completely making stuff up. When people call me a liar I’m going to say that I’m just “religious”.

Boo science! Yay dinosaur-riding Jesus! The only thing that would make that picture better is a cowboy hat on Jesus.

  2. So, let me get this straight…. Noah’s ark held enough fodder to feed not just the giraffes and elephants, but also the lions and tigers and bears, none of whom ate meat yet? That’s just silly.

Especially since they don’t believe in evolution, which means they think lions and tigers used those fangs to eat – what? – bark?

  3. this reminds of the kentucky christian nonsense-based “natural” history museum, and the article i read, so long ago, about how bill maher managed to get a tour of the facility prior to its official opening.

    did anyone see “religulous”?
was there any footage of that tour in the movie?

  4. Personally, I’m not into the Dinosaur-Riding Jesus; I’m a fan of the Fightin’ Jesus of the Church of the SubGenius! Bet HE could kick some dinosaur a$$.

  5. At this point, there is no proof that any of the dinosaurs were as mean and dangerous as shown in most dinosaur books.

Here’s an idea how about we clone about a dozen velociraptors (Jurassic Park style) and turn them loose at Ken Ham’s Creation Museum. Then we can see just how dangerous they really are.

  6. What a pile of rediculous crap. I’m completely with Bill Maher on this, it’s the duty of any intelligent citizen to find out if a political candidate believes this stuff, since they are going to be called upon to make rational decisions about scientific. If you can be convinced that this is true, you can believe anything.

  7. i always wondered what the bible had to say about t-rexes and what not… i’m not sure this answer is sufficient.

    you need more people!

the animals two-by-two in the ark 300 cubits by 50 cubits might have been enough to house a few dinosaurs… and noah built the whole thing by himself? hm. he woulda been hella useful on one of those home reno shows.

  8. I thinnk there is more to be studied on the subject of creationism, but the remarks of the people here is just terrible. It’s sad that just because you put the word science into a sentance that means there was only evolution. More people need to read the bible instead of just lisenting to the world. This is why the world is in the terrible state it’s in. If more people read the bible they would read how everything is happening just as the bible said it would. I pray for all of your souls.

  9. Good on you Christianwoman77 for maintaining your utter ignorance in the face of over whelming evidence. I particularly like your statement about needing to read the bible instead of just listening to the world. Awesome, so you are saying that we should not engage with, observe, understand or ‘listen’ to what is really happening around us in our world, you are saying that we should instead read a book written by men some hundreds of years ago who didn’t know a e choli bacterium if it bit them on the bum?

Its time to wake up and let your dream god die. Reality is far more interesting and beautiful then your dead god.
