  1. Unlike the rest of your readers, I let someone else to lick my ass for me. That’s how I’m different!

Also, that cat reminds me of my old one who used to lay like that constantly. I get the feeling that’s something tuxedo cats just do naturally…

  2. I have found a book that seems like a combination of Friday Cat Blogging and the Daily Dose of Ingersoll.

It is called ‘In Praise of Cats’, by Gwen Hilditch and I think we all agree that that’s something that’s both worthwhile and enjoyable.

This week’s belated excerpt comes from Théophile Gautier:

“To gain the friendship of a cat is a difficult thing. The cat is a philosophical, methodical, quiet animal, tenacious of his own habits, fond of order and cleanliness, and does not lightly confer his friendship. If you are worthy of his affection, a cat will be your friend but never your slave. he keeps his free will though he loves, and will not do for you what he thinks unreasonable; but if he once gives himself to you, it is with absolute confidence and fidelity of affection. He makes himself the companion of your hours of solitude, melancholy, and toil. He will remain for whole evenings on your knee, uttering a contented purr, happy to be with you. Put him down and he will jump up again with a sort of cooing sounds that is like a gentle reproach; and sometimes he will sit upon the carpet in front of you looking at you with eyes so melting, so caressing, and so human that they almost frighten you, for it is impossible to believe that a soul is not there.”
