O.J. Simpson book, TV show canceled

And I was looking forward
to not reading it and not watching the special:

NEW YORK (AP) — After a firestorm of criticism, News. Corp. said Monday that it has canceled the O.J. Simpson book and television special “If I Did It.”

“I and senior management agree with the American public that this was an ill-considered project,” said Rupert Murdoch, News Corp. chairman. “We are sorry for any pain that his has caused the families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson.”

A dozen Fox affiliates had already said they would not air the two-part sweeps month special, planned for next week before the Nov. 30 publication of the book by ReganBooks. The publishing house is a HarperCollins imprint owned — like the Fox network — by News Corp.

In the projects, Simpson speaks in hypothetical terms about how he would have committed the 1994 slayings of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Goldman.

Relatives of the victims have lashed out at the now scuttled publication and broadcast plans.

  1. “I and senior management agree with the American public that this was an ill-considered project,” said Rupert Murdoch, News Corp. chairman.

Then how on Earth did a project like this get so far? It shouldn’t have even left the brains of the lunatics who brought it about in the first place, nevermind reaching a T.V. special.

I know that there are others, aside from OJ, involved in this scheme. But I just could not help but think that OJ’s milkin’ the cow so hard, nothing but clouds of dry milk are comming out. Can he not think of anything better than this idea and that awful pay-per-view show of his?

  2. I hear the GOP is going forward with their own book and TV special called “We Didn’t Steal the Elections in 2000 and 2004, But If We Did, This Is How We Would Have Done It”.

  3. I say he set the trend for a great multitude of wonderfull books that eventually will not get written. But would be great if They Had Be Written.

I did not read any of them, but sure loved them – if I would have read them.

And I really don’t ever react on internet fora, but here’s how I would react if I did.
