Google Print

googleprint.jpg

I’ve just spent the last hour or so going through Google’s new feature, Google Print. I have to say that I am pretty blown away by it.

Just do a search on the Google Print homepage. When we find a book whose content contains a match for your search terms, we’ll link to it in your search results. Click a book title and you’ll see the page of the book that has your search terms, along with other information about the book and “Buy this Book” links to online bookstores (you can view the entirety of public domain books or, for books under copyright, just a few pages or in some cases, only the title’s bibliographic data and brief snippets). You can also search for more information within that specific book and find nearby libraries that have it.

Something Really Awful

From SFGate:

A 19-year-old wearing a black cape, helmet and paintball mask went on a shooting rampage Saturday in this upscale Southern California neighborhood, killing a man and his daughter before committing suicide, authorities said.

William Freund, 19, left his home about 9 a.m. and drove less than 100 yards to a house, where he shot and killed 22-year-old Christina Smith and her 45-year-old father Vernon Smith with a shotgun, said Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jim Amormino.

A 20-year-old man, who was the brother and son of the victims, also was in the house. He fled from the gunman and ran out the back of the house after hearing the shots, Amormino said.

After leaving the house, Freund walked across the street and fired into another house, Amormino said. A person inside suffered cuts from broken glass.

Another neighbor then walked outside and was confronted by Freund, who tried to fire his weapon, Amormino said. When it misfired, Freund returned to his own house and committed suicide, he said.

Apparently, the person was on SomethingAwful asking about where to get buckshot.

Here is the original post:

I have a problem. I live in orange county and am trying to buy hevi-shot buckshot, or just winchester if they dont have it. Im 19 Year old And Every shop I go to That has it (grants guns, Saddleback gun store,Yeti gunsmith) Claims its a waste of money and birdshot is better for personal defence. They always ask me why I want to buy hevi shot for my remington 870 home defense,Like im buying some Armour piercing bullets or something.

Dumbass of the Day

This guy.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — A Missouri legislator who’s an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan said umpires should pay — literally — for what he sees as bad calls during the playoffs against the Houston Astros.

House Democrat Jeff Roorda feels bad calls during the in the National League Championship Series cost St. Louis a chance to play in the World Series. Roorda wants to expand the state athlete and entertainer tax to cover officials such as Major League Baseball umpires and other referees.
